Handmade to order in the Made by Nette studio, your Marcella is created around your choice of materials, colours and finishes. Mix and match available fabrics to create a combination that’s uniquely yours.
With comfortable handles and a detachable crossbody strap made from coordinating webbing, Marcella gives you the freedom to carry her your way.

These are the standard dimensions of the Marcella Handbag. As each bag is individually handmade, measurements may vary very slightly.
Personalisation – Make It Yours
Your Marcella is made especially for you, with a choice of materials and finishes to create a combination that’s uniquely yours.
Main Outer Fabric
Used for the larger lower panels on the front and back of your bag. Choose a material and colour that sets the tone for your Marcella.
Accent Fabric
Used for the base, smaller upper panels and handles. It also provides the fabric ends for the coordinating webbing crossbody strap. Choose a complementary material for a subtle look or a contrasting colour or pattern to make your Marcella stand out. Leather can also be selected for suitable accent pieces.
Lining Fabric
Used for the main lining inside your bag, bringing your chosen materials together for a coordinated finish.
Pocket Theme Fabric
A little splash of personality! This fabric adds a pop of colour or pattern to the interior zipped pocket.
Hardware
Choose your preferred hardware finish for the zipper pulls, handbag feet and crossbody strap connectors. These finishing details complete your chosen design.

Some materials may incur an additional charge, which will be displayed when you make your selections. All combinations are subject to stock availability and suitability for the Marcella design. If you’re unsure which materials will work together, I’m happy to help.
Made to Order, Not Completely Bespoke
Made to Order allows you to personalise the look of your Marcella by choosing your materials, colours and finishes while keeping the original design and construction.
If you’d like to make substantial changes to the design, incorporate your own clothing or treasured textiles, or bring a different idea to life, my Bespoke Commission service offers the opportunity to discuss something more individual.

Your Marcella will be made especially for you once your order has been placed and your choices have been confirmed.
My usual turnaround is around three weeks, although this can vary depending on current orders, material availability and the time of year.
I’ll always aim to have your Marcella on its way to you as soon as possible.
The Story Behind the Name
The name Marcella has Latin origins and is associated with meanings such as warlike, strong and young warrior.
It felt like the perfect name for this little bag because Marcella may be compact, but she’s certainly not lacking in character.
Small but mighty, practical but stylish — she’s designed to work hard while still looking beautiful.
Pattern Credit
The Marcella Handbag is made using the Totini Tote pattern by Spencer Ogg.

Every Made by Nette bag is lovingly handmade, so no two will ever be exactly alike.
Pattern placement, fabric details and finishing touches may vary slightly from photographs, giving each Marcella its own individual character.
Specific fabrics and finishes are subject to availability, but I’ll always aim to create a combination that reflects your choices and the Made by Nette style.
