Introduction

Meet Gaia, a versatile handmade bag by Made by Nette that gives you three ways to carry it. Wear it as a crossbody bag, carry it by the wristlet strap, or remove the straps and use it as a clutch for a more elegant look.

What makes Gaia special is the two-sided design. Choose one fabric for one side and a contrasting or complementary fabric for the other, creating a combination that’s uniquely yours. The matching crossbody and wristlet straps complete the look.

With discreet strap connectors on both sides, you can attach the wristlet strap to whichever side suits you best, whether you’re left- or right-handed. A secure magnetic clasp keeps your belongings tucked away while allowing easy access.

Handmade to order, your Gaia is created using your chosen materials and finishes, making it a bag that’s personal to you.

Personalisation – Make It Yours

Create a Gaia that reflects your style by choosing your preferred fabrics, lining and hardware.

• Main Fabric: Choose the fabric for one side of the bag.
• Accent Fabric: Choose the fabric for the other side of the bag. This fabric will also be used for both the crossbody strap and wristlet strap.
• Lining Fabric: Choose the main lining fabric for the inside of your bag.
• Pocket Theme Fabric: Choose the fabric used for the internal zipped pocket details.
• Hardware: Choose your preferred finish for the magnetic clasp, strap connectors, lobster claws and strap slider.

Your selected fabrics will be combined to create a coordinated finish, with the freedom to choose contrasting colours or complementary patterns.

Some materials may incur an additional charge, which will be displayed when you make your selections. All combinations are subject to stock availability and suitability for the Gaia design.

Made to Order

Your Gaia is handmade to order using the materials and finishes you select.

Please allow approximately 3 weeks for your bag to be made. This timeframe may vary depending on existing orders, material availability and the time of year.

Not Completely Bespoke

Gaia offers plenty of opportunities to make your bag your own through your choice of fabrics, lining and hardware. The original design and construction remain the same, ensuring that every Gaia retains the features that make it special.

If you’re looking for a more substantial change to the design, or have a completely different idea in mind, a bespoke commission may be the perfect option.

The Story Behind the Name

In Greek mythology, Gaia is the primordial goddess of the Earth, representing nature, life and the foundations on which everything grows.

The name felt fitting for a bag designed to be versatile, dependable and ready to accompany you on life’s adventures.

There’s also a personal connection behind this name: Gaia is my mum’s favourite. Giving this design her favourite name makes it extra special to me, and I love that a little piece of that meaning becomes part of every Gaia I make.
